Reading at Home

In year 3/4, it is very important that all children have the opportunity to read daily with a parent or guardian at home. We know this can be difficult to fit in during a working week, but a few minutes listening to your child read and questioning them about what they have read can really help their comprehension skills develop alongside what we do in class.

If your child finds it easier to engage with the computer than a printed book, why not try out these free e-books from the Oxford Reading Tree? All the books with an 'e' on them are free and can be looked at online from home. They can be read to the child, or the sound can be muted for the child to read themselves.
