Viking Art

Over the last two weeks, we have been spending our topic sessions weaving with various threads to create the backdrop for our corridor displays. Each class took a different colour to weave to create the Viking scenery. 34B = Red for the fires of the burning villages and monasteries, 34T = green for the land that was farmed by the Vikings and 34S = blues for the waters that the Vikings sailed.

Once we had completed the weaving, we set about making our moving pictures to go with the coloured backgrounds. 34B designed burning houses with moving flames, 34T designed Vicious-looking Vikings complete with moving swords and shields and 34S created Viking longships with moving oars.
